                    IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

                             July 22, 2026

   Mr. Shreve (for himself, Mr. Baird, Mrs. Houchin, Mr. Yakym, Mr.
 Messmer, Mrs. Spartz, Mr. Hudson, Ms. Boebert, Mr. Bresnahan, and Mr.
Stutzman) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the
              Committee on Oversight and Government Reform

                               RESOLUTION

 Expressing support for the Freedom 250 Grand Prix, to be held in the
                  District of Columbia in August 2026.

Whereas, for more than 100 years, American INDYCAR racing has set the pace for
        motor sports;
Whereas, with speeds exceeding 200 miles per hour, INDYCAR drivers and cars
        inspire awe and respect in all who watch this quintessentially American
        sport;
Whereas INDYCAR racing has produced legendary figures, including A.J. Foyt and
        Mario Andretti, whose achievements have become an enduring part of
        American sporting history;
Whereas INDYCAR racing continues to captivate fans every Memorial Day weekend as
        people from across the globe travel to attend the Indianapolis 500, the
        largest single day sporting event in the world;
Whereas INDYCAR racing is a source of pride and entertainment for the Nation;
Whereas the Freedom 250 Grand Prix is scheduled to take place in the District of
        Columbia from August 21 through August 23;
Whereas the Freedom 250 Grand Prix will be the first motor race ever held in the
        Nation's capital near the National Mall;
Whereas the race will showcase the majesty of the District of Columbia as
        drivers navigate a course around iconic national monuments; and
Whereas the Freedom 250 Grand Prix is intended to celebrate America's 250th
        birthday and highlight American innovation, excellence, and sporting
        tradition: Now, therefore, be it
    Resolved, That the House of Representatives supports the Freedom
250 Grand Prix INDYCAR race and recognizes the historic significance of
American INDYCAR racing and its contribution to American culture,
heritage, and national pride.
